It is with great pleasure that the Corporation Board announces the events to honor our most recent Significant Sig, David Speer, Chairman and CEO of Illinois Tool Works. Illinois Tool Works is a diversified global manufacturer of engineered products and specialty systems that in 2010 reported revenue of $15.9B.
We will honor David and his wife Barbara over the weekend of September 30 – October 2, 2011. The itinerary for the weekend will be as follows:
Friday, September 30, 2011 Gateway Hotel and Conference Center
6pm-7pm Cocktail Hour hosted by the Corporation Board
7pm-9pm Dinner ( $40 per person)
9pm-10pm After dinner drinks (Cash Bar)
The attire for the banquet is business casual. Golf shirts and slacks will work nicely. If men would like to wear a sports coat, they are welcome to do so. However anyone caught wearing a tie will have it promptly removed or cut off.
Saturday, October 1, 2011 Iowa State versus University of Texas Football Game. David and Barbara will be the guests of Fred Kammeier, Class of ’58, and his wife Ruth. Game time is 6pm. There will be a tailgate party hosted by alumni prior to the game in “Tent Row” in the parking lot of Jack Trice Stadium. The Sigma Chi tent will be tent number 16 located between Hilton and Jack Trice Stadium. Look for the Sigma Chi Flag flying above it. Tailgate will start at 2pm with food at 3pm. Sunday, October 2, 2011 Individually arranged breakfast gatherings and getaway.
