Committees

Chair: Jeff Patterson

• Creates and maintains a simple website or Facebook page.

• Maintains alumni records.

• Produces two newsletters per year.

• Coordinates annual alumni event(s).

Chair: Ryan Downing

• Assists, advises and mentors the chapter.

• Coordinates an annual chapter retreat and officer transition retreat.

• Attends formal chapter and executive committee meetings.

• Advises the chapter treasurer on preparing budgets and annual tax returns.

• Assists, prepares and trains the chapter for ritual activities.

• Assists chapter with their Rush program, rush training and rush functions.

• This board or chairman is appointed by the Sigma Chi International Fraternity and  is not a subcommittee of the house corp, but the house corp. can assist by recruiting people to join this board.

Chair: Jon Hall

Work with the treasurer and other committees to tactically build and maintain a 1-3 year budget for the Beta Omicron Corporation Board.   Monitor revenue projections and expenses to assure compliance with the annual budget.

Chair: Alan Naumann

• Plans and executes fundraising drives.

• Hires and manages fundraising consultants.

• Meets with potential donors.

• Thanks donors publicly.

• Creates an endowment/scholarship fund to benefit the chapter members and alumni.

The goal is to have the chapter house be in good condition and debt free, then provide educational support to the members.

Chair: Val Simhauser

• Identify, honor and promote worthy Beta Omicron Sigma Chi alumni for Order of Constantine and Significant Sig

• Maintain chapter and alumni awareness of contributions of previous nominees and award winners

• Establish Beta Omicron specific awards and/or recognition for contributions made by alumni

Chair: Steve Terrill

• Oversees the chapter house upkeep, maintenance and improvements.

• Hires and manages maintenance and repair contractors.

• Coordinates a regular maintenance program

•  Creates and updates annually a 5-year Capital Improvement Plan.

• Oversees security deposit damage inspections and repairs.

• Conducts inspections and charges chapter for damages.

Chair: Kent Johnson

• Determine the number of scholarships, source of funds and amount of each

• Coordinate with the Sigma Chi International Foundation, the Iowa State University Foundation, and any other source for the benefit of Beta Omicron members, both pledge an active, in perpetuity

• Issue a call for applications, the review of applications and make recommendations to the Board while maintaining the original intent of fund sources

Look forward over the3-7 year horizon to maximize opportunities and minimize challenges in order the make Beta Omicron Chapter of Sigma Chi the destination fraternity at Iowa State University.
