Bylaws & Articles of Incorporaton

The Beta Omicron Chapter of Sigma Chi Corporation Board was incorporated on May 12th, 1914 and re-incorporated in January 1965.  On October 11th, 2014 in preparation for the construction of the new fraternity house, the Articles of Incorporation were amended to establish a perpetual organization and define a modern director structure to manage the new facility.  These articles of incorporation remain in existence today, and the corporation is recognized by the State of Iowa as a legal entity.  The corporation board is recognized as a 501(C)(7) organization by the IRS.

New Bylaws were adopted by unanimous vote during a special meeting of Alumni on December 15th, 2024 and augment the Articles of Incorporation.

These new By-laws establish term limits for Directors to limit the burden of serving for extended periods of time and provide clarity on meeting and voting procedures goin forward.
